Youth-targeted fund boosts Dutywa-based business

NAWIZ Logistics Solutions, a youth-led logistics company based in Dutywa, received a major boost through the Isiqalo Youth Fund Programme, an initiative aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and stimulating rural economic growth in the Eastern Cape.

The company received a four-ton truck and solar panels valued at R1.5 million to bolster its operational capacity, sustainability, and competitiveness in the logistics sector. Founder of Nawiz Logistics Solutions, Sinawo Sidziya, expressed his gratitude for the support, saying the investment marks a turning point for his business. “This truck is going to open doors for us as we will be able to operate nationally moving forward,” said Sidziya.

Officiating the handover ceremony on behalf of Premier Lubabalo Mabuyane, Mbhashe Municipality Mayor Cllr Samkelo Janda expressed appreciation to the Provincial Government for continuing to prioritise youth economic inclusion through initiatives such as the Isiqalo Youth Fund. “We are grateful for this initiative as it directly supports the implementation of our Local Economic Development Strategy,” said Janda.

Nawiz Logistics Solutions is one of several youth-owned enterprises benefiting from the Isiqalo Youth Fund Programme, which provides targeted financial and non-financial support to young entrepreneurs, particularly in rural municipalities. The Eastern Cape provincial government says the programme forms part of its broader agenda to create sustainable youth employment and build resilient local economies. Since its inception, the Isiqalo Youth Fund has supported a growing number of enterprises across multiple sectors including logistics, agriculture, manufacturing, and technology, equipping young business owners with the tools needed to grow and compete in a challenging economic environment.

According to the provincial government, supporting enterprises such as Nawiz Logistics Solutions, Isiqalo Youth Fund continues to demonstrate its value as a catalyst for inclusive economic development and a practical expression of the Eastern Cape’s commitment to empowering its youth and revitalising rural economies.
