New truck line-up targets micro businesses and heavy haulers

FAW Trucks Southern Africa unveiled the newest additions to its highly anticipated 2025 model range in April. Designed to meet the evolving demands of Southern Africa’s logistics and transportation sectors, the company says the new lineup delivers exceptional reliability, efficiency, and innovation tailored to local segment requirements.

The FAW, 4.110 FL-MT, JK6 16.260 FL, and JK6 16.260 FL-AMT, combine cutting-edge engineering with features that address the unique challenges of African roads. According to FAW Southern Africa, the launch underscores FAW Trucks’ commitment to driving economic growth and supporting businesses across the region.

New models

The FAW 4.110 FL-MT (2.5 Ton, 4×2 Freight Carrier) is powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine (81 kW @ 3,200 rpm, 280 Nm @ 1,600–2,400 rpm), Euro III compliant.
FAW JK6 16.260 FL-AMT (8 Ton, 4×2 Freight Carrier) with a : Euro III/V-compliant turbocharged diesel engine delivering robust torque (194 kW @ 2,300 rpm).
FAW JK6 16.260 FL (8 Ton, 4×2 Freight Carrier) powered by a 6.6-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel (194 kW @ 2,300 rpm, 1,050 Nm @ 1,300–1,700 rpm), Euro III/V compliant.

The company says the new FAW Trucks freight carrier line-up is a purpose-built range that tackles South-ern Africa’s diverse terrains and operational challenges with exceptional durability, efficiency, and com-fort. Their riveted ladder-type chassis, combined with parabolic leaf springs, ensure superior load han-dling even on rugged roads, providing reliability in demanding conditions. Optimised engines deliver im-pressive fuel efficiency, reducing running costs while maintaining high performance levels critical for long-haul operations. Additionally, the ergonomic cabs are designed with driver comfort in mind, featur-ing suspension seats and modern infotainment options to enhance convenience and productivity during extended journeys.
