Large-scale upgrades to improve traffic flow at eQonce (KWT)

Home Infrastructure Construction & Civils Large-scale upgrades to improve traffic flow at eQonce (KWT)

DRIVERS entering eQonce from the N2 near Breidbach, are met with large-scale development as the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) is busy with upgrades.

Construction of the new Breidbach Interchange has commenced and will improve traffic management and flow from Bhisho, Breidbach, Zwelitsha and East London.

The Interchange will also see the construction of a link road from Breidbach towards Sweetwaters as well as a free-flowing interchange at Belstone Bridge and the dualling of the road to Bhisho.

A community development project will be constructed and traffic lights will be installed along the road to Tshatshu on the R346, a regional route that connects Kidds Beach with Stutterheim and travels south-south-west through Braunschweig to eQonce where it merges with the N2.

Fixing municipal roads

The Buffalo City Metro is also fixing municipal roads. Since the launch of the current programme, upgrades have been completed in many areas around the city with the major upgrades targeting Mdantsane, eQonce, Dimbaza and East London.

Buffalo City Metro employees have been resurfacing streets in East London, Mdantsane, Ntabozuko and are gravelling roads in rural areas.
